SIA Interactive Associates Fun With Major Brands

People are so used to constant entertainment, that it becomes difficult to surprise them. SIA Interactive is in the business of using technology to surprise people.

At a recent Intel Developer Forum, an interactive Coca-Cola machine, one of SIA Interactive?s projects, was the center of attention. The machine features a powerful Intel chip and a giant 46-inch touchscreen. You select a drink from the moving carousel on the screen, holding all the available drinks, simply by moving your hand. ?It?s a more engaging, fun way of looking at drinks,? Christian Rogne, CEO of North America, SIA Interactive, told RESCUECOM.

The vending machine takes a photo of the person purchasing a drink and posts it on Facebook. ?Another cool thing that becomes a brand experience, you can play a game and win a free Coke,? Rogne continued. ?People have a good time and associate it with Coca-Cola like the old slogan, have a Coke and a smile. We add emotion to technology.?

SIA Interactive focuses on brand activation for big companies. It also has offices in Spain, Central and South America. The company works with the agencies of Fortune 500 companies, creating branding experiences through innovative technology.

?Experiential marketing is getting people to experience a brand, through games, photos or video, in a lot of different ways,? Rogne noted. ?We try to create experiences for brands across different technologies, such as mobile and Facebook, for an integrated marketing campaign.?

?Once a brand has a campaign idea, we brainstorm around it,? he added. ?The hard part is people always want something new and exciting, so we?re always pushing the envelope.?

The SIA Interactive team includes techies, artists, programmers and interactive marketing specialists.

One of the most complicated projects was for JP Morgan Chase, which launched in August. To promote the Chase Liquid card, a prepaid, reloadable debit card, SIA Interactive was involved in developing the successful Liquify Yourself campaign. On a mobile tour across the country, traveling pods carried technology that took a live video feed of a visitor and converted it into a liquid appearance. If you moved your fingers, it looked like droplets fell. You could send these pictures to your email and Facebook to share with others.

If you need tech support or computer repair when visiting a trade show or mobile tour, companies such as RESCUECOM can often help you by phone.

SIA Interactive also contributed technological expertise to a Guinness world record set last December ? the world?s largest interactive 3-D claw game. The company built a four-foot joystick for this Chevrolet Sonic promotion and lit up the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles one evening in December 2011. The side of the building appeared to open and a giant claw game emerged in front of about 1,000 people. People used the joystick and an emulated gas pedal to drop the claw in an attempt to win prizes, including a Chevrolet Sonic.

What will SIA Interactive think up next?
